Brondon Palmer
I believe that painting is an act that comes from the heart and the mind, and celebrates our unique ability as human beings to conceptualize and create. Painting serves as a means to express my deep love of the natural world, and pigments taken from the earth and ground in oil seem the natural choice for the task.As I paint, I endeavor to capture the essence of a place and portray my surroundings in a painterly, and expressive fashion while trying to communicate ideas that are important to me: the sheer feelings of wonderment and serenity that I often experience when I am out in nature; the interactions of light, space, color, textures and atmospheres; and even the simple concept of romantic beauty. As an artist and a craftsman, I make my own supports and frames, and use only the most natural and beautiful materials that I can find. The entire process of painting, and of painting the landscape in particular gives me great joy which I hope will become a shared experience with the viewer.
